Web-CAT reaches impressive milestone

Publish Date: 10/28/2013

Congratulations to Steve Edwards, whose Web-CAT service recently processed its 1 millionth student programming assignment. Web-CAT (Web-based Center for Automated Testing) is a flexible platform that supports virtually any model of program grading, assessment, and feedback generation. Edwards reports that over 60,000 submissions were processed in the past 30 days, with the busiest day last month having over 5,000 submissions from students at multiple institutions. The primary Web-CAT server supports almost 13,000 user accounts from about 20 schools, just another measure of the recent growth in Web-CAT's use and impact.
