Zalia Shams wins John Vlissides Award at SPLASH 2013

Zalia Shams was awarded the John Vlissides 2013 Award for her outstanding presentation at the SPLASH Doctoral Symposium. SPLASH is the premier conference in object-oriented (OO) programming languages & systems. This award is named for IBM researcher John Vlissides, a co-author of a well- known book on best practices in OO programming. The award is given to one doctoral student annually for outstanding work in applied software. Zalia is a PhD student working under the direction of Steve Edwards.

In just the six years that the award has been given (2008-present), it has now been won by two CS@VT students. In 2011 Hari Pyla (advised by Srinidhi Varadarajan and Cal Ribbens) won the award.
